Mosquito Traps

Mosquito Traps

If you are 1 of the 200 people who have been waitting.. Hallelujah! It's finally here! This amazing low maintenance mosquito trap was being sold locally about 3 years ago but disappeared from the market. We encouraged an import business to take a look at this trap and get it back into Australia, so after a lengthy process it is here.
The Neo Insect Trap comes with my personal recommendation. We have 2 of these traps in our backyard and it has made a huge difference to the mozzie population. The trap uses less than 2 cents of power per day, that's about $ 8 a year. It doesn't make any zapping noises and it runs quietly.
Insects even in the dark can easily locate where a person is by sensing the carbon dioxide and heat they emit. Also insects react with extreme sensitivity when near ultrviolet rays and carbon dioxide. Using these properties, the insect trap can decoy and capture insects in the dark, outdoors or indoors by utilising the ultraviolet rays produced by fluorescent lamps installed inside the unit. These elements attract and lure insects into the trap. The photo catalysis action of this trap also purifies the air and indoors makes a very economical and energy efficient night light. If you are concerned about dengue fever, ross river fever or Japanese Encephalitis or just that annoying itch, the Neo Insect Trap is a must. Your dog will appreciate it too as heart worm is also transmitted by mosquitoes.

Solar & Insulation Rebates

Solar & Insulation Rebates

The Federal government are now giving householders a rebate of        $ 1,600 for the purchase of a solar hot water system or insulation to make your home more energy efficient.  This is available now so if you are interested in getting a quote, please let us know and we can arrange this for you.  Solar Hot Water Systems also get the REC rebate as well.  The 2 rebates combined will give you a rebate of about $ 3,000.  For more information about quality Conergy solar hot water systems take a look at our website.

There is also a plan to make available GREEN LOANS of up to $ 10,000 to make your home more energy & water efficient. The loans would be paid back over 4 years and will either be low or no interest. Firstly an energy auditor would visit your home and prepare an assessment for you. Their report will indicate ways that you can improve the carbon footprint within your home. Then you can use your $ 10,000 loan to reduce your carbon footprint. This money could be spent on solar hot water, water efficient showers, ventilation in your roof, even buying a more energy efficient appliance.  If you would like to receive more information when it becomes available, let us know and we will add your name to the mailing list.

Mouldy Days Are Here Again

Mouldy Days Are Here Again

If you are having a problem with our mouldy humid weather here are a few tips.

*  Use equal quantites of Rosemary & Clove Oil in your oil burner to disinfect the air of mould spores.

*  Avoid clutter as it restricts air flow and allows moisture to accumulate

*  Pack your winter woolies into vaccuum bags to protect them from mould, reduce volume in your wardrobe, & allow more air circulation.

*  Use a dehumidifier to reduce moisture in the air

*  For many more great tips come in for a copy of "7 Solutions to a Mould Free Home"  written by former locals Anne & Darryl Clark
