Planting By The Moon

Planting By The Moon

For an increased harvest you might like to try planting by the moon.  The Moon Planting Wheel will give you advice on when to plant and when to prepare your soil for maximum production.  We have a locally produced Moon planting wheel which is perpetual.  It is only $ 12 and can be used year after year.  It is very easy to use.  If you prefer something more complex we still have some 2009 Astrological Calendar & Moon Planting Guides available, but stocks are running out.

Worms Migrate to Magnetic Island

Worms Migrate to Magnetic Island

We have supplied a Tat-g Worm Farm to an organic waste management project on Magnetic Island.  The unit operates from a solar powered pump which irrigates the compost chambers to maintain perfect conditions for the millions of worms living within.  The unit has the capacity to process a tonne of waste per week once it is fully operational.  The finished worm cast can be sold to residence on the island to improve their garden soil.  All waste is currently removed from the island in skip bins and disposed of in Townsville.  It will take some time for the worms to reach their optimum population and meet the expections of it's new owner.  This project is an excellent compliment to their solar city project making Magnetic Island one of the leading sustainable communites in Queensland.   We are proud to be part of this project.

Solar & Insulation Rebates

Solar & Insulation Rebates

A rebate of $ 1,600 is stil available from the federal government to improve the carbon footprint of your home.  The $ 1,600 can be used for either a solar hot water system or to put insulation in your roof.  If you are interested in spending this on solar hot water, you will also qualify for a 'REC rebate' as well.  For most homes this would give you a further $ 1,500 in rebates.  A Conergy Solar Hot Water system can cost you less than $ 500 plus installation.  The average cost of installation is about         $ 1,600.  Call us for an obligation free quote, as solar hot water has never been this affordable and the rebates won't last forever.
